Hi today I'll be reviewing the game Kingdom Hearts II for the PlayStation 2. Kingdom Hearts II is obviously the sequel to Kingdom Hearts and again it features a collaboration between Square Enix and Disney and again they do an exceptional job with this game. The graphics and visuals are very well done. The sound effects and music are awesome. What I really like about the game is the fact they've paid a lot of close attention to the smaller details of each Disney world. For example, things like lighting and sound effects and character dialogue make each Disney world feel very unique and faithful to the original Disney film. Some of the new Disney worlds you'll visit in Kingdom Hearts II include Tron, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Lion King. As for the game play itself Kingdom Hearts II is classified as an action RPG, which means that while there are some elements of RPG such as character leveling in gaining new skills, for most part it's an action game, and it depends much more on quick reflexes and button action than actual strategy. The fighting system is fairly similar to Kingdom Hearts 1 but now there's new depth to it including new forms that you can take and new reaction commands you can do during battle. One of the criticisms of Kingdom Hearts II is the fact that it's too easy of a game on standard mode. While the core game itself is fairly simple to beat, I think there are enough bonus materials, extra games, mini games and optional content that will keep you entertained and challenged for hours beyond the core of the game. Much like Kingdom Hearts I, Kingdom Hearts II features a great story as one of the strongest points of the game. It does overview what happens in Kingdom Hearts I, but it is recommended that you play the first one and the Game Boy Advanced sequel to get the best understanding of the story of Kingdom Hearts II. Kingdom Hearts II is rated E-10 and I recommend it to everybody especially those people who enjoyed the first one.
