Review of Xmen: Legends II Action-RPG Game
ExpoTV has thousands of reviews from people just like you!
Hi, today I'll be reviewing the game X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse for the PS 2. Legends II is the sequel to the popular X-Men Legends game. It's very similar both in style and gameplay. The graphics are pretty exceptional and it really reflects the comic book nature of the game. The music and sound quality are pretty well done, but not too memorable. As you'd expect for a game based on a comic book, the story is very well written. You don't have to be too familiar with the comic book series to appreciate the story, but a general understanding of who the characters are and their personalities will definitely improve your enjoyment of the game. As for the gameplay itself, Legends II much like Legends I can be classified as an action RPG. The RPG elements include the fact that you control a party of four different mutants though at any given time you'll only be controlling one of them. The other three will be controlled by either your friends or the computer, but you can quickly and easily switch to take control of any of them at any given time. Other RPG elements include the fact that you'll be leveling up, getting new skills and picking up randomly dropped objects from the enemies. However for the most part it does feel more like an action game because it's pretty fast paced. There's a lot of bug smashing exciting action. One of the greatest things about Legends II is the fact that you can assemble any unique team you want out of a huge roster of different mutants. There are over 50 mutants you can choose from to assemble your party and what's really great is the fact that in this particular storyline the X-Men are actually teaming up with their arch enemies. So you can have a party full of both X-Men and evil mutants and see how their different powers work together. The greatest thing about X-Men Legends II is the fact that it's a great cooperative game where you can play with your friends. Up to four people can play the game either using a PS 2 multi tap or playing online with a broadband Internet connection and the PS 2 network adapter. Playing with multiple people makes the game feel more like a traditional arcade cooperative action game sort of like Gauntlet. I recommend X-Men Legends II for any fan of the comic book series and action RPG's in general. It's rated T for teens.

X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse introduces an uneasy alliance between the X-Men and the hated Brotherhood. These old enemies have a common enemy in the arch-fiend Apocalypse -- an incredibly powerful mutant who will conquer the Earth if X-Men and Brotherhood members don't work together....
