Hi, today I'll be reviewing the game Brain Age for Nitendo DS hand held system. As you may have heard, the game's been receiving a lot of positive press lately because research has shown that training your brain for a few minutes a day can drastically improve your memory and brain functions. In fact the tag line for this game happens to be, Train your Brain in Minutes a Day, and one of Nintendo's ad campaigns actually features older people playing this game as a way to keep their memory sharp. The game actually consists of a series of smaller mini games. There are games such as memorization games where you memorize the sequence of the numbers, there are logic games, such as the popular Sudoku math game and there's actually a lot of arithmetic games where you see how many simple arithmetic calculations you can complete in a specified amount of time. What I really like about this game is that it actually incorporates Nintendo's DS technology really well. For example it uses voice recognition so you can actually speak your answer directly into the system, to see if you've got it correct, and uses the handwriting recognition so you write your arithmetic answers directly on to the touch pad, and it recognizes what you wrote. One cool feature about this game is that it actually lets you track your progress daily to see how well you've been improving your brain, from game to game, from day to day. So you can actually see if playing this game for a few minutes each day really does train your brain and increases your memorization and your sharpness. Now considering the game is basically just a bunch of homework problems, it's actually surprisingly fun and addicting. It's actually great fun for older people who aren't traditional gamers, who just want to keep their memory sharp and for younger kids who don't like to do homework, but it's a great way to help them actually do some arithmetic problems as well. So all in all: Brain Age Train your Brain in Minutes a Day is a great game for all ages.
