Mazda's ode to the MPV is more luxurious than the 929 ever was -- and might give you a few RX-7 flashbacks. Pluses: Overachieving interior spoils seven. Balanced cornering. Minuses: Third row may not accommodate taller passengers; hypersensitive stability control system sometimes spoils fun. Surprises: I thought the CX-7 was supposed to be the athlete!

The Ford Edge was one of the first and very cute cars to earn like a 5-star recommendation on ExpoTV. To get that honor a car has to be silk forward looking that advanced to the human mobility. If the edge was really that good is there really a need for this car? This is its coarsely related cousin the Mazda CX-9. And its reason for being is a slightly stretch real based that allows for a third row sitting. If you are really buying the CX-9 for its third row space how is it easy to get back there? Ah a lever in the second row pushes it through so anchorage is pretty easy. And as long you're at the second row passengers keep their row there's [inaudible] on the tracks as they can. Actually won't mind sitting back here on a long road trip it's comfortable. The seats are really firm which is good. The CX-9 does an offer of the edges were tractable glass crystal roof. Even so the Mazda's interior easily outclasses any Lexus or any Mercedes Benz crossover. Inside the CX-9 is a masterfully composed symphony of wood leather simulated metal and mat plastic. The contrasting materials made it dramatic intersections and cascade downward in the door panel that suggests that. Red and blue electroluminescene gauges are complemented by reactive LEDs in the center stack that come alive when controls are adjusted. The electroluminescene display allows for scrolling songs titles and lower case letters. The things that you can't do efficiency with the 7-segment LCD. While we are in here changing the settings it's first saying that the midrange in the both speakers is really not impressive at all and even when we have crank the base up all the way does not allow us [inaudible] that's where the Ford Edge wins out inside. Expect 17.2 cubic feet of cargo space with all three seating rows upright. Drop the third row for 48.4 cubic feet of space. But to turn the CX-9 into a holler drop the second row. The nearly flat floor makes it easy to load 100.7 cubic feet of cargo into that. Toward graceful and maternal nicely described the CX-9 face. A gentle rare windshield rake sedates its side profile. High intensity discharge head lamps help drivers delve deeper into darkness. LED turn signals in the wing mirrors make the CX-9 more visible to other drivers. LED brake lamps illuminate much faster that conventioal incandescent bulbs. Alerting trailing vehicle sooner could prevent an accident. Big trap is a little exhaust porter integrated into the rare bilge hinting at the power beneath the hood. The 3.7 L double overhead CAM V6 is all new for 2008. 273 horsepower and 270-pound feet of torque are delivered smoothly to all 4 wheels. Trips are as quiet and comfortable as your passenger will allow. The electronic stability control system is more intrusive than it should be in all wheel drive car. But it's the CX-9's tight turning circle. It's constant equilibrium. It's genuine eagerness to cargo corner that makes every drive a joy. You'll be glad you brought your friends. Since the edges are on same platform as the CX-9 it has the same miraculously balanced handling. Most of the versatility you'll find here. If 5 seats are enough for you it might be smart to save some bucks and go for the engine instead. But if you have a couple extra buddies to hall around and you need that 7 passenger sitting it wouldn't be doing bad by staying with the CX-9 awesome interior to both.
