Dell Inspiron E1705 Review

Reviewed on 09/29/07       Plays: 2224

This laptop is awesome and as good as a desktop for gaming. The downside is that it's big and heavy.

Hey Expo TV this is Irish Thunder giving you another video review this time of the Inspiron E1705 Dell laptop and I am going to dive right into the cons. Personally I love this laptop though but it is so big. It is 17 inches which is great for gaming if you like that and you can throw in a great graphics card in it. I have the GEForce 7900 GS and the gaming is as good as a desktop in all honesty and that is why I got it. When I bring this to class it is just such a load on my backpack and if you are a college student like a lot of laptop users the little half-desk that you get in college is really hard to kind of stabilize on this. One of the main things I looked at is either the 1505 or the 1705 Inspiron and going back I am still not sure which one I would pick because the 1505 is lighter is more of a laptop but the 1705 is this almost hybrid of this pure performance gaming and you can still carry it around. I think I will probably still pick this one but like I said sometimes the 17 inches is excessive when you are just typing a paper in the library but it is awesome when you are playing Half Life 2 or whatever and gaming along. One of the features that they really sell is they come in with a DVD burner which is great. I use that a lot and they also have the buttons in the front which is something very unique to the case of the laptop and you can just like pause music files and change the volume real quick and mute it and that is really handy for if like on start up in a class. You know it does that Pa-na-na-na and you can just like mute it real quick and it is alright. Yeah like I said it is really handy. Plenty of USB ports it has got six. It has got networking it has got your power I think you even have the VGA quite a few video inputs. Yeah I really love this computer. I have not had too many problems with it. It occasionally occasionally and I think that I fixed it anyway with the Dell update. It crashes with boot screen but that only happened like once a week and then they had a BIOS update and it fixed it. So this is really a solid laptop especially if you can find a Dell coupon because the Inspiron is going to be a heavily couponed. I mean I did one where I like max this out for over $2000 and I had a $750 coupon off if you had over $2000. So you can get value and it is as good as an XP is in my opinion just a few motherboard parts that are different. Yeah I highly suggest it and this is just as a reminder the Dell Inspiron E1705.
