Hi, I'm Mike and I'm going to show you my new toy, the Apple Mighty Mouse. This is the Apple's new 2-button mouse. Eh -- it's hard to tell because they're hidden. What happens is that the whole mouse actually clicks down -- just like that and when it does it's able to tell whether you're clicking on that side or that side by a little sensor inside that detects where your finger is. 00:00:29 Eh -- it also has buttons on the side here. When you squeeze them together it allows you to just open applications, which I find really confusing. Eh -- and then finally it has this little tracker ball on top, you can use like a squirrel wheel on a Windows mouse, except you can scroll down and left and right, you know, web page. 00:00:52 Eh -- so far I'm still getting used to it. Eh -- because there aren't any physical buttons on the top, a lot of times I find myself just moving my finger on the top and when I click I'm on the wrong side and I didn't know I'd moved because the old mouse there wasn't any differentiation and it's much the same on this one except the different sides of the same mouse do different things even though there's no physical divider. 00:01:22 Over time I've gotten used to it and I find that I us the tracker ball a lot when I'm browsing web. That's really come in handy. The 2 side buttons I think are worthless. I never, I can't even figure out why you'd use them. It used to be the only part on the old mouse that you could touch that wasn't a button. 00:01:45 But now these are buttons too, so if I try to pick up the mouse I end up clicking in strange places. And eh -- and when I do want to use them, it'll only work for 1 or 2 things. You can't use them to click inside the program. You can only use them to click on programs in the dock and even then there's no satisfying clicked to them. 00:02:07 It's just -- it just kind of magically happens some times when you don't expect it, it doesn't happen when you do. So now I'm not too excited about it. The rest of it I love. Tracker ball is great. The only other thing to know is that it is an optical mouse like a lot of mice today. 00:02:29 So, as you can see here I end up having to take a sheet of paper down the desk, because it will not work on a glass desk. I just haven't seen it yet. So, it's a one thumb, on the other hand you don't have to clean it at all, which is great. 00:02:47 I've been cleaning mouse balls for years now. It's nice to not have to clean mouse balls anymore.
