Hi, I'm Alex and today I'm going to be reviewing the Linksys compact wireless G broadband router model number WRT54GC. This is a very small router as you can see. It has your four ports for LAN and one WAN port for your cable or DSL or whatever. I'll plug right here. It even has a little tilty thing here that it can stand up like this. That's also good when you get the external antenna with the port through right there and beware in order for this to work at all, you need to buy the extra antenna. Otherwise the range is basically sitting in your computer chair. It's pretty bad. I had this router for about a month. It worked okay. And then I tried to upgrade the firmware. It crashed. Partially my fault because I was using the wireless at my grandma's house to upgrade it, which was a pretty bad idea. Never upgrade a router's firmware by a wireless. You're dumb if you do. So I braked it. It's pretty much worthless now, although I went online and read about thousands other people that did this and they did it through wired LAN too. So may be it's just a bad model. I don't know. I recommend the larger version of this router. Just look up WRT54G; much better, especially on the speed booster. But the GC compact, the C also stands for crappy. So, dot buy it; Linksys WRT54GC, kind of sucks.
