Sweet, Pocketable Camera With Face Tracking

Reviewed on 05/09/07       Plays: 185

Like all digital ELPHs, you'll get great image quality. I like this camera because of the fast shutter speed, face tracking, red eye removal built in, 2.5 inch LCD screen, and more.

Hi my name is Richard and this is the Canon SD1000 one of the later cameras released by Canon part of the Digital L Series and I really like this camera a lot. It has a very boxy look; it comes in silver and black. If you get this silver edition and if you had the black you see a black ring not the silver ring. And then on top you'll see a black line instead of silver line. I actually prefer this silver because I think it makes a lot better in my opinion but of course it depends on what you like. I want to basically compare this review to the Canon SD630 which is similar to the Canon SD750. If you look at my periods of review you will see wondering the comparison. They are very similar cameras this is a 7.1 Megapixel camera so if you gonna take really big photos you can definitely get really great looking prints. But four by six your not gonna see any difference if four higher Megapixel cameras. It has a 3x Optical zoom and 4X Digital zoom same as all the recent digital off cameras so it s not that great compared to like other cameras which have 12x Optical zoom. We are gonna zooming 12 times without having to there s any picture quality but that s a lot more expensive than this $180 camera. Now like I said it has 2.5 inch LCD screen it s very big I like it a lot because it s a lot sharper than the SD630. SD630 does have a 3-inch screen but the resolution is higher on the SD1000 making images look a lot sharper on this camera. Of course though if you put the memory card in your computer and view him on your monitor pictures pretty much like the same. So I'm just basically saying that LCD screen on the SD1000 is better looking than the SD630. Like I see it a very bulky looking very thin and small camera very pocketable you can easily put it in your pocket. Well I'm afraid that you keep walking you ll applied pressure and then internally break the LCD screen I've actually seen that happen. What s two in the features that I really like in this camera is the face tracking ability and the red eye removal. So basically when your focusing looking at the screen on the camera and focusing on the person's face your gonna see a little white spots around the face. And if you move the camera to his bright or to the left a little the lens will try to focus on the person's face to get the best picture of them. And it s really sweet and I believe it can detect up to nine faces so if you re taking a group photo its great. And then the second features right out of rule so whenever your doing the playback of the photos your actually remove the red eye to make it more natural looking so I like these two features a lot. There s no image stabilization so its but they do have you change eye or so settings to prevent blurriness by I believe I saw it in SD1600 its typically bright here in Euston so I don t see I don t see the need for it too much I just put an eyes on auto. It's like all digital cameras; they provide really good picture quality. It's a fast shutter spin so you can take quick pictures second after second. Leaving on takes about half a second to a second to take another picture and I'm really impressed by an image quality. I'm not a professional photographer but we just want a quick point shoot camera I really recommend the Canon Powershot SD1000. If you want a bigger screen and want the curvy look of the SD630 then I would recommend that because some people like look at a bigger screen or prefer a curve look than over a box look. And that's pretty much it. It has rechargeable battery a long battery life. If you might want to buy another battery for going on in a trip. You can connect this to a TV watch your videos and pictures on the monitor or TV. And just like every other digital off camera monitor opinion but if you are looking for a new camera this is what I recommend. This is the SD1000 by Canon and my name is Richard thanks.

Chic, simple. Canon looked to the very first ELPH for inspiration when designing the PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH, and came up with a quintessential iteration of the icon: slim, clean-lined and fully flat. Inside, the SD1000 Digital ELPH looks only to the future: 7.1 megapixels, a 3x optical...
