Hello you're watching my video review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5. There are a lot of digital cameras in the Panasonic Lumix line so it can be a little bit confusing. The TZ5 is basically a very big lens on a small camera. So this is a 10x optical zoom wide angle lens on here and you can see how big the lens is compared to the rest of the camera. The Lumix uses Leica lenses and inner parts so the image quality should be very nice. The camera's pretty well built; I like how sturdy it is. I like that the on Instead of having to navigate through a button you can quickly dial up the mode that you want. The shutter and then the zoom. It has an Easy Zoom button so you can go from 1x to 10x just by pushing that button once. The display is a nice big 3" LCD. It's got a high resolution so you can really view and preview your photos quite easily on this screen. It's got a pretty easy to navigate menu system. On the bottom this is where it comes with the rechargeable lithium ion battery and it takes your memory card there secure digital. The tripod mount is on the side here. It's not in the middle so I don't know if that s going to be a bit of a problem or not. But overall I think it's a really well built camera. So the big feature of this camera is the 10x zoom. Let me show you a picture that I took in my neighborhood. I noticed something kind of funny on the roof. You probably can't see it but there's something here. So this is at 1x. Standing on the same spot when I zoom into 10x I can see that it's a toilet plunger up on the roof for some reason. So it's got a very powerful zoom. I'm going to show you the demonstration mode here which will kind of give you a better idea of the zoom and the wide angle as well. A camera this size usually has like 3x to 4x optical. So this is at 1x; at 10x you can capture the faces. It has equivalent to 28 mm wide angle. So a typical camera would have the edges cut off like this on a group shot; in here you can get everybody in the shot. So I think this is a really good camera. I got this for my upcoming vacation because I plan to take a lot of landscape shots and this would be nice for landscapes. It will capture the entire building. The intelligent auto technology that is just how this camera works. If you set it to intelligent auto it takes care of everything for you. All you have to do is just push the shutter button. So what this will do is it will automatically adjust all the settings. It will adjust the exposure. It has auto image stabilization. So if you're shaking a little bit it will kick in. It has face recognition. So if there are people in the frame here then it will recognize the face and tend to focus in on the face. It will switch from just regular mode to landscape to macro just all by itself. So here it switched to macro automatically. So I think just for casual photographers who don't want to set everything this is pretty pretty good. It's a lot better than other auto modes that I've tried. I'm very impressed by how well it adjusts by itself so I think it's really a very easy camera to use.
