It s got a 3x optical zoom. Have been very happy with the camera overall with one manner issue that I have with it. It does make work very well for making videos in fact I m using it right now. To make this video for this review and I have used it for my all other reviews on expo TV. However one thing that I don t like about the product which I will demo for you now is the zoom function does not work. I m trying to zoom it in and out right now and the zoom function does not work while you are recording. So if you have it in video mode you already have to have it zoom in or out to the what you want before you start recording otherwise you can t change the focus of what you started recording. So other than that it takes very good pictures. Takes very good videos you could see the videos on all my expo TV reviews but that s about all the criticism I ll have. The other criticism is the little dial on the back tends to change a little too easy even when you don t want to. So number of times I tried to take a picture and find out it is in video mode because the dial has turn on its own. So that will be only criticism of the camera otherwise the Sony cyber shot camera is a very good camera. As you can see from demoing the camera as I record this.
