I m reviewing the Verizon LG Chocolate. It s also known as the LGVX8500. Before going into the pros and cons of it we ll go over a few of the features on it. It s got 128 megabytes of internal memory. It s also got a microSD slot on the side so you can upgrade it to 2 Gigabytes of memory which if you re gonna use the mp3 player on this it gets you up to 1000 songs. Not only can it play mp3s but it also can play WMAs and you can either use an USB cable to load these on you can use the Bluetooth or you can actually email them to the phone or buy them online from Verizon straight to the phone so it's really easy to get songs on here. The touchpad here is touch-sensitive. It's actually really easy to use. You can set different shortcuts for it too. One of the biggest complaints you ll see online is that it s too sensitive but that can actually be set in the menu to whatever sensitivity level that you re comfortable with. The buttons down here are just like a normal phone so they re all actually real buttons that can be pressed. The only problem with the placement of that is that it s hard to use with one hand so you can t really dial or text without looking so it s not really something that you can use in the car really easily. It s also got a 1.3 megapixel camera right on the back of that. It s also got a shortcut button for that on the side so you can actually see what kind of resolution that looks like. That s again up to 1280x960. One of the great features about the camera is it s got a lot of things that you can use just like a normal digital camera such as white balance. You can zoom it you can set the brightness level you can do different color like black and white negative things like that so it s actually you can get a lot of use out of that. The sound quality on this has been outstanding. It s the best I ve heard from any Verizon phone that I ve had so far. It s really small which I think is probably the biggest selling point on that. If you compare it to a deck of cards you can see kind of what the thickness and everything on that is. It s actually only a little bit thicker than a Motorola RAZR and smaller in the other dimensions so that s one of the biggest features that I love about this. It s also got a great battery life. I usually get between five and six days before I actually need to recharge it. They say it s up to 210 hours of standby battery life which kind of depends on how much reception you re usually getting with it. The reception usually is really great. I haven t had a problem with dropped calls or anything like that yet. When you have it closed the touchpad doesn t actually react to anything so if you got it in your pocket it won t start calling people or anything like that and as soon as you open the touchpad becomes active and if you don t touch it for about ten seconds which can be changed in the menu it actually will deactivate again so until you close it and open it or open it with the shortcut on the side it won t actually be touch sensitive so you don t have to worry about dialing people with your pocket or anything like that. It s really one of the best phones I ve ever had from Verizon. I would highly recommend it to all my friends. After buying this I actually convinced my brother and my mother to both get it and they have both loved it too and my mother usually really isn t the most tech-savvy person and has really understood and figured out all the features on it and she s been using the navigation features to get around town so really if she can do it I m sure all of you can. So this is a great phone from Verizon. I would highly recommend it. They ve done a great job and I think you ll love it too.
