Hi This is my review for the Motorola V171 cell phone. This is what it looks like. It is silver. There is nothing really fancy about it. Up at the top you have your headset jack. And on the back you push this little thing up and there is your battery. And down here is the speaker where the ring sounds come out. In the other half you have your keypad in here. It is pretty standard. There is nothing really fancy I am just going to bring it around and give you a closer view here. Okay so if you push down and the numbers come out I am not going to go through them. You go in here; I am going a little closer for you. You push in the center button. You'll come to kind of the main menu I guess. And in here is where you have all your pre-paid information. Down in here is your messages where you go in. you can create a text message get to your voice mail go to your inbox quick notes which I never really used those. Down in here is your messages where you go in. you can create a text message get to your voice mail go to your inbox quick notes which I never really used those. I don't really know what they are for. And this is your outbox. So you want to go . . . exit this. Then you have your phonebook you recent calls the . . . And you click this button to go back. I don't really know what they are for. And this is your outbox. So you want to go . . . exit this. Then you have your phonebook you recent calls the My Menu that I don't really know what this does. I think they just kind of let you decide what things you want in this main menu area but I never use it. So yeah. Then you have your ring file where you can pick your ring tone. Try a tone in here. Yeah they are not cool. You pick your ring type the tone details where you set like the volume and things like that. And then you can make your own tones . . . Yeah it is not that cool. So some of the ring tones I will just show you. That is how you like loud ring or vibrator or whatever. In here the tone details you click . . . there you go. (Ring tone) Yeah that is not exciting. (Ring tone) And you do get 20 ring tones. (Ring tone) it isn't all that exciting. It is not sounds. The 20th one isn't really a ring tone. It is just a sound that it makes when you get a text message. So those aren't really exciting. And the ones at the top are the ones I was fiddling around with the My Tones things or whatever it is. And then you go back let us see what else do we have. We have the alarm clock which is nice. I don't use this phone anymore but I still use the alarm clock. And the setting you can go in and change different things like in Call Setup if you want it to tell you like you can beep every minute. So that you will know if a minute has gone by. You click like that. It is the security settings and then the password and other settings you have kind of personalize it. Your initial setup your network if you have setting things like that. And oops And then in more you have a calculator service dial. I don't know what it is. I don't use it. And a stopwatch which is kind of nice I guess. And then quick dial not sure. I rarely use that. And then your games which aren't that cool. They come with the there's racing which you just click this button back and forth to avoid the cars. Yeah. And you have Torpedo which you . . . let us see I don't remember. Oh you move the boat up at the top and you avoid the torpedoes coming up from the submarines. Ah yeah. That is all that is. And the last game is . . . oops Magic which is kind of fun if you're super bored and really desperate. It is kind of like Tetris. I think that is what you call it I don't know. It depends on what service you have if you can download ring tones and all. I never could chat. I never use that. Apparently you can do that. And now we are back to the pre-paid. So yeah it doesn't do a whole lot. But if it is needed for making calls like if you get from a pre-paid place it is a pretty good phone. The battery life is good. However if you have the battery for a year or two the battery life does shorten significantly. And you probably need to find a replacement battery. And the sound quality on this phone is pretty good. Most people who I called on this phone thought that I was talking to them from the regular landline phone not a cell phone as long as you have good reception. The reception I got was okay. It depended on where I was like if I was at the back of Wal-Mart nothing. But you know that it is how it is in every cell phone. You just have to kind of use it. It all depends on where you are. But I got data reception and I usually have four to five bars you know up to the max when I was in a place where there is no good reception. So it worked well in that respect. So it is a decent little phone. It doesn't do a whole lot but if you need you know you just need for making calls. You don't all the bells and whistles; it is a good buy for that. Just making calls it is pretty intuitive to use. I am hard time using it. And I liked it when I had it and I have upgraded since then. Yeah. So if you are looking for a first time sell phone user you are not going to use it very much. I would definitely recommend this phone. Thanks for watching. And you click on this button to act this or what you want to get into. It tells you the codes and the telephone numbers and all that stuff. And you click this button to go back.
