My name is Nicole and today I am going to talk to you about the iPod. Basically the first thing you are going to notice about the new iPod is the new display that is on it. Not that the size of the display is any different than it used to be but the actual main menu may have changed a bit. Instead of having just a straight full menu of our text now the menu is kind of split halfway and we see not only our text but a little bit of preview of what that menu we are on is is showing. So right now I am on My Music so it will show me a little bit of my album covers that I have in my music. The next thing we are going to notice is how thin Apple has made the new iPod. Now it is not any thinner than what it was before; it is just that now instead of being the 80-gigabyte being about this thick it is now about the size of what a 30-gigabyte used to be which is kind of nice and easy to kind of pick. The next thing Apples offer now is the fact that it now has that cooler feature of Cover Flow in all its products. Cover Flow was first seen in iTunes. It allows you to actually browse your music looking at the covers as opposed to looking at just a list of words. So I am going to go into Music here and I am now on Cover Flow so I can select my Cover Flow option and it takes about a second to kind of have all the covers load only because this particular iPod the iPod Classic uses a hard drive and just like a computer needs to kind of figure out what is going on before it actually does it. You can now see that I can actually scroll through my album covers which is kind of neat. I am going to pick one and when I select it it actually flips the album over and shows me all the content that is in there and I can select a song straight from this Cover Flow and it brings me to the playing screen. The genius behind the iPod has always been its software iTunes. So why don t we take a look at that? As you can see in my main menu my main area here I have all of my music all in what is called My Music Library. If I have any movies they are going to be in My Movies Library and this is kind of how you would get an idea of how iTunes of organizes your music. Once everything is in your library then it is really just a simple process to get it on to the iPod. So what I have here is I have my iPod and I have a standard audio CD - the Love Actually soundtrack one of my favorite movies - and I have the standard plug that comes with the iPod and I am just going to go ahead and I am going to plug it in. As you can see what happens is iTunes actually recognizes that my iPod has been plugged in and it brings me to what is called the iPod Screen. There is a couple of tabs at the top each indicating the content of what is in my iPod. Actually those tabs will help me set up whether I want my iPod to be what is called manual or automatic. If I want it to be manual then I can drag my music over. If I want it to be automatic then I can just have my music start automatically go as soon as my iPod is on. Now what I am going to do is I am going to put my CD inside my computer. Watch how iTunes actually instantly recognizes that I put a CD in my computer; it pops up telling me that it is Love Actually. When I press Okay it is going to bring me to the Track List. Here at the Tack List what I can do is I can actually choose what songs I want to import by just removing the checks that are on the tracks. Whatever is left checked off is what is going to be imported as soon as I press that Import CD button. Now iTunes recognizes I already have the CD inside my library and here is where I would just say okay do not replace what I have and continue on. Once I have imported the CD it joins my library and now I can just drag it over to the iPod and add it to my music. iPod Classic was a pretty good buy in my opinion. It was a little bit of an upgrade from what I used to have because I was running out of space in my music but I would say if you have an iPod and you are happy with it there is really no reason to upgrade.

The iPod classic features an updated design on the digital media player you already know and love. Some of the new bits include a sleek all-metal enclosure, a massive increase in storage space, a thinner body, and a brand-new user interface featuring Cover Flow. Cover Flow allows you to easily...
