Hello tonight I'll be reviewing the Canon XH A1 HDV camcorder by Canon. Shoots an HDV it's high definition and shoots up as many DV format but it has a higher quality than standard definition so it shoots in high depth soft hue in acute building shooting at standard depth of you don't wanna shoot high definition. Let's get down to business here it's got two XLR inputs for audio which means you can hook up a better microphone than using the beyond board line kind of use the film in channel one and a wireless microphone in channel two. You get two channels of audio and the sound is pretty good that way. It's a professional camera pretty much I shoot documentaries with this and I really like the camera a lot. A lot of people swear by the DVX and the sonic model but this is better in my opinion first of all it's HD and second of all it's just well looks better. Its got some ND filter that gets to right outside you hit it and eliminates the blown out look of the sun you've got you know focus zoom white balance out of white balance manual focus out of focus this is the zoom lens you can control this right here as well. You've got your manual focus ring you got your exposure right here you got the gain control out of gain control. This camera is cool too because you can download pre-sets on line for how you wanted things to look and people already have the like have managed the way to minify the colors so all you got to do is get a memory card for them and download the presets and you can access presets by using these buttons and I think I've got a fairly downloaded so far just to give you different looks so you don't have to treat the colors on your own. So it's pretty cool. The battery goes back here and of course you got your head tape head right here you've got your mouth or audio right here if you wanna do mike to the microphone and just you know run a gun style look like attached to it. You got a record button up here record button down here. I think I've covered just about everything on this camera that was the lighting round but again I recommend this camera a lot. It's pretty sweet. It runs about $3400 retail price perfect for documentary shooting perfect for independent films low budget films it's a way to go especially if you do documentaries you know people say that you should get HVX which runs up with 2 cards. Well if you want any documentaries this is for you because you can use tape and keep right one tape and then you don't have to worry stuff and uploading information in your computer and using 10 000 PC cards. This is awesome.
