Hello there How are you today? This is the Canon XH A1 HDV Video Camera. This is a high end consumer video camera and it's 3-chip CCD. It has a 20x zoom. It's got your typical ND filter [1.32 1.6] so you're all positioned there and it even has a nice digital dial to watch your time code and your audio levels channel on Channel 2. This is the dial that you'll turn to turn the camera on and do the various functions such as the VCR where you can play your tape back and record. This camera is about $4400 or $4500. You might be able to get it used or in some kind of a special sale for $3800. I highly recommend this camera if you are a film student who just graduated or an independent filmmaker looking to make their first short film or even a feature. People have been using these cameras for a while to make their feature films. It also has your XLR inputs for microphone and all your standard inputs for capturing footage and films et cetera. One more piece of information for you: the film can shoot on regular mini DV tapes and can shoot on the higher advanced DDM style of tape which is going to give the HD quality footage so this is the way to go.
