The Panasonic GS320 this is a mini DV camcorder it shots in through 16 by 9 recorder and what I mean by that is actually is that is shot in through wide screen it's actually and it's not just unnatural back bars and ____ and fake wide screen you can actually shot in real wide screen. And you can always tell if you are looking for a camera that actually you need to shot true wide screen when you look at the LCD screen it's actually in the shape of true wide screen you can see that there. And if you are looking at the lens its cap off with the actual shape of a wide screen so it's actual true 16 by 9 wide screens. This is a 3CCD camera means you actually have 3 separate chips to process each of the primary colors each of the 3 primary colors. It does shot still pictures recording 3.1 mega pixel recording says it right here. Now when are doing still pictures keep in mind this does not come with a flash so it is fairly good quality still pictures but still it doesn't come with flash you'd actually have to light the pictures so to use natura l lighting. The one thing I will say about this camcorder is it does not come with any audio inputs or outputs it just come with and AV connection there and it comes also with a fire wire port in the back to connect to your USB port and the fire wire port in the back here it does not come with any audio inputs or output so you can't plug any headphones and you can't plug any microphone that s really the only downside of it. Other than that it's a good quality camera the sound the mic on it is very good. I prefer to plug in shotgun mic or lapel mic because I do a lot of stuff on this. But it is good quality image good quality sound even for the mic. You see a little tag of switch screen there and you control it with this which is kinda neat but I don't know for some reason for me that I feel that like some kind of limits the camera little bit I'm used to you know I'm use to have a little buttons here stop press rewind. But you get used to it. Still does not heck away from the fact that this is still a very good quality camera the image comes out great when I play it back in the computer or on the big screen TV. I will suggest getting it if you are looking for good quality images on a low price you definitely get the Panasonic GS320
