Hi it is Jeff. I am here to tell you today about the Panasonic TH42 PX60U Plasma Television and it is this guy right here. This is a TV that I have had for almost a year now but it is a wonderful TV. I have liked it very much. I compared before getting it I compared plasma and LCD and rear projection and DLP and all those kinds of things and I found that plasma was what I was most interested in partly because of the picture quality and the brightness of it. I have actually got it tamed down right now for the video but it is wonderful picture quality. It is a 720p standard resolution 1024 X 768 is the actual pixel resolution but it is a 720 PHD signal is what it takes in. It actually has two HDMI inputs on the back which is great because I actually have both my DVD player and my satellite receiver going directly into there with HDMI cables which I really like because that way I have only one cable to control all of the video and audio going into the unit. It has built-in speakers in the front which are actually they actually sound really good to be honest with you. They are stereo speakers and they work really well for watching TV in general. It has a flip up control area in here where you can do a lot of the controls. It also has the digital inputs here you can actually go ahead and put in an SD card if you want to look at your pictures. You have got your S-Video and all of your RCA jacks there for being able to go directly into the TV. It has some pretty simple controls this is the remote that comes with it here. It has got some pretty simple controls but you can actually also double up and use it for your TV your VCR your DVD combo that kind of thing your satellite receiver. Generally this remote though I use my satellite receiver one because that has got the most functions on it so I actually have that programmed to do all the things that I would normally do with this one but it has all kinds of different modes. If we go into here now let us take a look at the menu. If we go into the menu you have different picture options which we can actually go into. This is in Cinema mode right now which is kind of muted colors a little bit. If we go into Standard that is the really quite bright colors or if you go to Vivid that is even brighter colors - that is an extremely bright picture. So I am going to bring it back into Cinema and then you can individually adjust each of these other settings in here. We go back we got audio setting in here where you can set up different audio settings for what you are taking in as well as the normal amount of bass and treble and things like that. You also have some general setup things including your clock things like that. So those are the basic controls of it. Then it also has numerous different inputs here so if we go ahead and select you can see the inputs that we have. Right now we got TV or component one and two we have PVR which is coming in as HDMI - let us go back to that DVD which is another HDMI Video One Video Two and Auxiliary. So those are the different ways that you can have signal coming into it. It also displays which one you are using - HDMI One as you can see there. There is also a way that you can look at the signal type that is coming in. If you aspect aspect like you change it from Hi Film to Just Occasion to Four Three standard signal coming in or Zoom mode which is kind of a you will lose some cropping at the top and the bottom sides but I go Full which is taking a 720 signal out of my DVD or my satellite dish going into here as a full aspect ratio show. So that is pretty much what this does. The TV itself brilliant colors brilliant picture deep blacks good sound good picture overall extremely good quality so in the time that I have had the Panasonic I have had no real complaints about it at all. I love it. Very good.
