Almost identical to the LC32D43U. It is a great TV for gamers and casual TV watchers. Sharp Aquos LC32AV22U 32" HDTV LCD TV, Television & Video, Electronics

Hi my name is Richard and this is the Sharp LCD TV. It s the 32-inch model number [32AV20U] and my roommate and I researched about it. It s actually only sold at Best Buy. We purchased it for about $699 when it was on sale a very low price at the time when we bought it last year compared to other 32 inches which were about $1300 at retail price so we thought for $700 it was a really good deal and we grabbed at it and after a year of experience using this TV we really like it a lot. What s so special about it is first the inputs. There s a lot of inputs on this TV. You got two HDMI right here. You have a VGA port so you can plug in your laptop or your PC if you like. If you do have a DVI port then you might get a DVI to VGA cable and it has one antenna port so in case you wanna get antenna and cable you have to get a splitter. It has one component audio out cables or audio output ports that you can hook up to a home theater system and then you got two composite ports for your old players like a VCR Wii or even the old-time DVD players. Now what interests us most about this TV was the design of the TV. We really like the look of it and of course the picture quality. Many people compare this TV to its official line the Sharp AQUOS that is 32D43U and if you go to Costco it s D42U. The differences between the two is you re gonna see a different vessel and then there s one more component input on the D42U and one less composite on the D43. In our opinion we thought we like the price because it is $200 cheaper plus we did have more old-time appliances such as the VCR. My roommate likes to record his old TV shows. Another difference you kind of see between the two is the remotes. You can see my old review of the [GP1] 37-inch. The remotes are a lot different. It s a lot prettier. It s a lot smaller and easier to hold too as well. It is more glossy. It matches the look of the TV. One thing I noticed is really it s a piano gloss black so it can attract a lot of dust so if you live in a dusty apartment or at home you will see the dust and you have to clean it regularly. One bad thing we did find out was when you hook up a DV player by HDMI and you re watching those old television shows like Friends or Seinfeld and when they are recorded by 4x3 mode when you use the HDMI it will actually stretch the picture out trying to upconvert it from 48i to 720p or even 1080i so it distorts the picture a little and what you have to do the only way to better the picture is actually either switch components like go back to 4x3 and you ll see the black bars or you just sit far back so you can t really tell the big difference. And then another bad thing we didn t like was the bar. Like here when you re watching the television broadcast for some reason compared to like Sony LCD screens we re not able to change the colors of the borders. I mean it can be a little bothering but as long as you change the [theme mode] it can go away like that. And then last but not the least changing channels. It does take a little bit long time just to change channels. As you can see like most LCDs have this problem as well. It took about one second to two seconds just to change channels while if you re just watching a CRT it will be less than a second. We use this TV mainly for gaming. It has a six-millisecond response time so it s great for Xbox 360 or PS3 or any video game system in our opinion. If you do use the PS2 it does look a little distorted so you have to use component cables to smooth out the visuals. That s pretty much it. We do love the TV for its price and I highly recommend it. It s the Sharp 32AV22U and my name is Richard. Thanks.
